Lighting of the Fire

Apache Stronghold invites us each to light the fire on March 30 and announce our struggle for the sacred.  Our fires will warn evil, the monetizing evil that threatens sacred Oak Flat, that we are here for the life that God gives, not the money and power that copper ostensibly provides.

Join us!  Light a fire and pray.  Put the spirit at work in Resolution Copper on notice that we are on the move against the evil manifested in the proposed mine.

Let it also be a commitment for ourselves to make the big changes in our own lives.  Capitalism, here manifested as Resolution Copper, is an enterprise with which we are all entangled. The Apache Stronghold leaders say we all are in a serious spiritual struggle. Prayer and solidarity across tribes and churches will make the difference. Freeing ourselves from the mammonized systems will begin the change.

Even as the Saturday Easter vigil fires announce the defeat of death and all its powers, so these Saturday March 30th fires can announce the victory of life over mammon and its powers leaving room for life to flourish. Just now a hummingbird flies into the CPT camper!
